SummerDance
SummerDance is a unique summer program for aspiring dancers ages 3 – 18. There are morning Dance & Art classes for ages 3 – 7 and intensives for ages 8 – 18. These classes will be available in school beginning in late June and July 2023.
Our Summer Intensives are now offered as Full Day and Half Day programs. The Half Day program gives students daily ballet class, and a taste of other styles of dance. The Full Day program is for the serious dancer looking to make serious improvement in their dancing over the summer.
Dancers in the Full Day program will have access to all the same styles and teachers from the half day, plus will receive additional ballet and pointe classes, classical repertoire, as well as repertoire from Jazz legend Bob Fosse, and character classes. Boys classes are available during the Full Day program.
The Full Day Program will culminate in a ballet class open for parent observation at 3pm, as well as a Showcase held weekly at 4:20pm. This will be held each week on Friday, and is only available to the Full Day participants. Dancers will learn from highly skilled instructors who are dedicated to the learning process and growth of each individual student.

Intermediate & Advanced Intensives Teachers
Gabrielle Lamb (Masterclass)
Gabrielle Lamb, winner of a Princess Grace Award for Choreography, is based in NYC, where she directs Pigeonwing Dance. A native of Savannah, GA, she trained at the Boston Ballet School and was a longtime soloist at Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montreal. In 2009 she was invited by Christopher Wheeldon to join his company Morphoses in NYC. DANCE Magazine described her as “a dancer of stunning clarity who illuminates the smallest details—qualities she brings to the dances she makes, too”.
Her choreography has been presented by the ABT Incubator, The Juilliard School, the MIT Museum, the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Whim W’Him, BalletX, Sacramento Ballet, Ballet Austin, and Ballet Memphis, among others. She has won fellowships and competitions at Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Milwaukee Ballet, the Banff Centre, and NY City Center, as well as a 2020 Guggenheim Fellowship.
Gabrielle is on faculty at the Joffrey Ballet School and Peridance Center, and she is also a certified teacher of Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement®. Her ballet class emphasizes coordination of the upper and lower body as the basis for holistic and connected movement. From the beginning of the barre, rhythm and alignment create the base for healthy and efficient center work. Dancers are challenged to make interpretive choices regarding musicality, phrasing, and focus.

Lindsay Orr
Lindsay began dancing at the San Ramon Valley Dance Academy at the age of three, and never looked back! She also received training from BalletMet Columbus and The Russian Ballet Society. Lindsay competed at the national level at New York City Dance Alliance and spent two summers studying with them in NYC. This inspired Lindsay to move to the city, where she received full scholarship to Steps on Broadway and was a founding member of their scholarship ensemble. Lindsay’s theater credits include regional productions of The Music Man, Cabaret, and Legally Blonde the Musical, where she served as dance captain. Lindsay can also be seen dancing in the film No Strings Attached, the TV show Boardwalk Empire. Lindsay’s teaching career began back at her home studio, SRVDA, where she both instructed jazz, musical theater, and contemporary. She also directed their Teen and Senior Jazz Companies, and coached many dancers toward college dance programs and professional careers. Her teaching style is rooted in strong technique, while celebrating the individual. Her classes are challenging and full of joy! Lindsay is thrilled to be a part of the faculty at CDS!
